Q&A with Kendra:
Why did you decide to work in communications?
I got involved in communications because I love talking with people and connecting like-minded individuals— I’m all about campaigning for totally wicked brands, being an organizational freak and creating relationships with amazing clients, so when I found out you could actually make a career out of that, I was sold!
We heard you host a radio show. What do you love most about working in radio and how did you get into it?
I do! I host a radio show on CJSW 90.9FM here in Calgary on Sunday afternoons and I just love it. I’ve been doing some incarnation of my show for more than eight years, and I got involved because I wanted to combine my love of communications and journalism with my absolute adoration of music, while giving back to the community through volunteerism. I’ve stuck around because of the great community, the incredible listeners and the ability to support and amplify musicians who make great work— the studio is definitely one of my happy places.
What is your favourite social media platform?
Instagram! But Snapchat will always have a piece of my heart because of the wacky filters.
We heard you love dad jokes. What is your favourite dad joke of all-time?
Oooh, that’s tough. My favourite dad jokes change constantly (and I’m constantly discouraged from sharing them by my friends/family, so actually being asked for one is bananas.) I’d say my favourite right now is:
Why did the pony ask for a glass of water?
Because he was a little hoarse.
Now, the most important question you will ever be asked: Ryan Gosling or Ryan Reynolds?
Ryan Reynolds so that he could get me in with Jake Gyllenhaal. *heart eyes*
